The wise words of Will (and Jazz)

Listen homeboys don’t mean to bust your bubble, but girls of the world aint nothing but trouble! So next time a girl gives you the play, just remember my rhymes and get the hell away!

Perfect for the times.

Being taken over by poems?

You may be thinking that my blog seems to have been taken over by poems in the past few days. Well, actually I have been writing out the Dubstep page of my blog. At the moment everything is going fine, I have almost finished adding all of the previews of the 10 songs and then I need to write a bit about them.

So anyway. I will continue writing poems but my site isn’t being taken over by poems, in fact, I feel that Dubstep is having a bigger influence on the blog rather than anything.

Poem: Dead Tone

# Dead Tone

No contact, more pain,
It’s driving me insane,
Like your playing some game,
Will my love ever feel the same?

Confidence is key,
I want you to be with me,
But still I cannot see,
Will this love ever be?

Tender love and care,
And now she is not there,
Speak to her I dare,
Oh this love is just not fair.

Poem: Kenneth Robert Lamprey

A part of the family,
A piece of me,
A carer, a lover,
A father of three.

A simple man of working class,
Basic belongings with nothing too flash,
Beliefs that guided through long, tough times,
A real great grampy, I’m glad he is mine.

Now this poem I give to you,
My caring and loving grampy,
Or better known to those around,
As Kenneth Robert Lamprey.

Rest in peace.

Message to Soundscape people

Here is my message sent to the Soundscape boss people;

Hello. I see that you are the creator of the Soundscape facebook page so I thought you would be the best person to direct my query to. Me and Samuel Crossley Lewis (I believe you have him added as a friend) wish to play at Soundscape together.

We are not your conventional band though. We would love to do a set (time limited) on the turntables showcasing a music genre that we both love, Dubstep. I know this is not your every day Soundscape act, as most or if not all of the bands or acts are doing rock and songs that everyone knows, but me and Sam feel that this set would bring further variety to the night and even get in more people!

We have had an immense amount of interest and support from friends and people around as to if we will be doing a set at Soundscape. We know that people will definately be coming to the event if we play as they are so interested in how everything works, etc.

So anyway, thanks for reading. If you are not the correct person to get in contact with about this then if you could please direct me to the correct person then that would be great. By the way, I would have asked the music block but I have been off school and also now Half term is upon us.

Thanks, Tom Spiteri.

Radyr prom (Operation “Skanky Skanky”)

The prom was decent, I can’t say it was really worth the £40 we paid as the food was cold (decent, at least) and the drinks costed which was a bit of a joke, but never mind.

The highlight of the whole prom was definately after everyone had eaten, when we initiated operation “Skanky Skanky”. This was planned the night before, I burned a CD with some Dubstep tracks (especially Rusko’s Jahova as track 1) and then the plan was to get the DJ to play at least one of the tracks (and go crazy w/ Mike Flowers in the middle, hah!). I was a bit skeptical if the DJ was going to actually play the track after I gave it to him and it took him like two hours to actually get the song on after numerous times of asking him.

In the end, Jahova came on! The track filled the floor, people didn’t know how to react at first but when they saw what the Dubsteppers were doing (me, Sam, Yousseff, Ben and Liam, sorry if I left you out) they got into the swing of things (jumping up and down, going crazy). The drop was crazy, the floor went from being all sad and calm to a mental situation, I loved it. The funniest though, was getting Mike F onto the floor. When the track came on he had just bought a drink from the bar. We pulled him up just as the drop was about to hit and well, his drink.. Let’s just say there was none left!

After the track, I thanked the DJ for playing it and he even asked If I would like another track plus added “it really filled the floor”, which I was quite happy about. I also had compliments from some people saying the track was awesome. People from the Radyr prom, you have now experienced Dubstep. And from what I can tell, you like what you hear! I really want to spread the sound of Dubstep to the masses and people who haven’t really appreciated it before. So if you really want to know more about Dubstep, then visit the Dubstep page of my blog that will be online eventually (I am re-writing the whole thing!). Also, me and Sam are playing as a co-lab Dubstep set on 100% Vinyl at Radyr’s SoundScape. Be there if you want to experience the best time of your life. Trust.

Take it easy. Tom.
